Instructions
      Version 27th March 2005

We have tried to keep the operation of CHIamp as intuitive and straight forward as possible. In most operational modes, CHIamp is simply run, a program selected, and the Start button clicked.

However, as the design of CHIamp is rather open, any frequency range below 100Hz can be entered and run. (In other words, you have freedom to customise the range of frequency in a straight-forward way and are not locked in to a specific frequency that may not be working so well for you). We will discuss Custom Programming further below.

These instructions assume you have downloaded and installed CHIamp, and are able to run it and access the Tools menu.

New In This Upgrade 05.03.27

The list box to the right has become fully customisable, which allowed me to remove the drop down combo list box for custom entries. CHIamp version 05.03.27 allows for 200 entries in the list selection. The New, Edit and Delete buttons at the bottom of this disorder list box allow for manipulation of all the programs.

Evaluation tagging I use allows me to trial frequency ranges of disorders, and if they display signs of providing valued benefits, then I rank them accordingly as to the importance I place on their use. I use a three dot system to rank disorder and special function programs.

  • One dot preceding the name means I have tried the range on more than three people and the results are better than 50%, but require more research.

  • Two dots preceding the name means I have tried the range on more than three people and results are very good, better than 70%.

  • Three dots are the programs I run the most and have observed positive results in most people I have given treatments to.

  • No dots preceding the name means I am yet to become confident in the disorder's range, or I just haven't tried it as yet.
Feel free to invent your own grading system. Please let me know of any disorders or use of chiamp that provides positive or negative effects.

The chakra ranges have been calculated as the 5th octave down from middle c on the standard concert scale. The notes are C, D, E, F, G, A, B (these can be modified if required).

The Start Button
On loading CHIamp, you will notice the Start button is disabled. That is because there isn't a program selected to run. You can either select a custom program or a disorder from the list on the right and CHIamp will load it and the Start button will now work.

The hours, minutes and seconds that a program has been running appears in the LED box at the bottom left of the CHIamp program, just above the volume control.

Volume Settings
Click the start button and CHIamp will run the program. The dB meter at the top left is CHIamp's output volume. As we are working with very low frequencies, you will see this meter go up and down on the low frequencies, and jitter a lot on the higher frequencies.

Usually, the volume setting will remain at 8, half volume, and you can adjust the volume to your tactile transducers via the knob on your amplifier. Wave form will suffer on volumes below 2 and above 13. This is more dependant on your sound card and is beyond CHIamp's control, so it will be safe to leave it at 8 unless you know the performance specification of your sound card.

Wave Type Selection
When using CHIamp with tactile transducers, the Sine wave is used for frequencies over 13Hz while sawtooth pos. or sawtooth neg. can be used on frequencies under 13Hz. If no wave is selected, and the start button is pressed, CHIamp will default to sine wave output. The wave type selection box appears to the left side of the Start/Stop button. You can change this selection at any time; even when CHIamp is running and the new wave form will be used.

This feature was added, as I know many creative researchers and therapists may wish to experiment with CHIamp using other transmitters such as EM systems besides tactile transducers. For EM transmitters, any wave form can be used. Contact electrodes should be connected to battery operated amplifiers.

Day / Night Option
The body works differently at night, than it does during the day. Many of the pre-programmed disorders have a different range of frequencies for the day and a slightly lower range of frequencies for the night. CHIamp will automatically select the night frequency range when the computer clock reaches 6.00pm and will revert back to day ranges after 6.00am in the morning. You can at any time over-ride this feature by simply checking the day or night range you want to use.

The 6pm to 6am feature has been hard-coded into CHIamps software to avoid adding extra options that may confuse some customers.

Application Display
A text box appears in the Program frame that displays how to apply the tactile transducer for the treatment selected. Whole body means placing the transducer at the bottom of the sternum, (localted at the center bottom of the chest cavity). Or if a table or chair has been installed with tactile transducers, then when a person is positioned on the table or chair. Local area instructs the transducer should be placed on the problem spot to receive the benefits. In custom programs, you can add your own notes to this field, thus prompting you on the use of the custom program selected.

Manage Custom Programs
Use the three buttons, New, Edit, and Delete at the base of the disorder listbox to manipulate disorder entries. You can alter the chart color, frequency ranges, name, and application notes using the edit key. The New button will allow to to add new frequency ranges. The Delete key will remove a frequency range from the list.
