FDS Instructions

What Is In The Box

  • FDS+ amplifier (above image)
  • 3 sets of leads
  • Instructions
  • Receipt of payment

Getting Started

  • Connect the FDS to one of your computers USB ports Image
  • If the computer is on, the Green light will be illuminated on the FDS
  • Connect the 3.5mm stereo plug with the cable tie attached to the sound out from your computer or notebook. Also often referred to as the headphone connection Image
  • Connect the other 3.5mm stereo connector to the microphone jack
  • Click here for set-up calibration instructions
  • Connect electrode leads. Red connector is positive volts and black is zero or minus volts.
  • Hopefully, you have made or bought some electrodes
  • TEN's gel pads connect to the 2mm connectors
  • Copper, stainless steel, silver or gold tube hand held electrodes or foot plates are connected using the lead with the alligator clips. Your local hardware store will be able to cut 2 x 6 inch lengths of metal tube to use or a handy man can easily cut two peices of water pipe for this use
  • You can search Google for TEN's electrodes, there are many different types and prices. What is important here is that they have a 2mm female connector for attaching to the FDS 2mm male connector plug (standard TEN's electrodes)
  • We have not included electrodes as just about everyone I have spoken to has their own preferences here. Some people have had metal tubes gold plated, other people have gone to the expense of using silver electrodes, and copper and stainless steel are very easy to make using a saw with 12 inches of metal pipe, it is cut in half to produce the electrodes
  • Check the FDS Applications for electrode set-up and use. There are many creative ideas being performed by people and I will update the Applications page as soon as possible
  • Always turn down the Power dial prior to changing any switches on the FDS+ device
  • If using Audio Mode, always start with the sound volume on low or off
  • Check the FDS web pages for notes on the different modes of the FDS
